SANOUK AND THE ELEPHANT
Sanouk and his parents, Chuan and Manee, live in a small village in Thailand.
It’s Sanouk’s 12th birthday.
In Sanouk’s village, it’s a tradition for fathers to give their sons an elephant when their sons are 12 years old.
The boys then learn how to work with the elephants in the jungle. After a few years, the boys are ‘mahouts’, or elephant trainers.
